At Grace Church, we believe that we are called to be disciples of Christ. As disciples, we are continuing to mature in our faith. How can you do this?
The first and easiest step is to worship consistently. We believe that attending corporate worship is both biblical and a great way to get fed spiritually.
"Not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near." - Hebrews 10:25 ESV
"And they devoted themselves to the apostles; teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers." - Acts 2:42 ESV
Join a Community Group
“Community life (groups) is essential to the disciple because we were created for community. We were built to function in relationship with one another and with God.” - Brad House
“And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received food with glad and generous hearts.” - Acts 2:46 ESV
“And many were gathered together, so that there was no more room, not even at the door. And he was preaching the word to them.” - Mark 2:2 ESV
The next step to being a mature disciple, is serving faithfully. This means you are volunteering your time and spiritual gifts/talents to a ministry for the kingdom. Find out where you can get plugged in today.
“As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace.” - 1 Peter 4:10 ESV
“And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and the teachers, to equip the saints for the work of the ministry, for building up the body of Christ.” - Ephesians 4:11-12 ESV
Giving generously does not mean that you are giving in abundance, rather that you are giving with a generous heart.
“Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” - 2 Corinthians 9:6 ESV
“Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. And thereby put me to the test, says the Lord of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you a blessing until there is no more need.” - Malachi 3:10 ESV
Speak the gospel
We are called to share the gospel in the world in which God has placed us. Pray for your intentionality to see the world through God’s eyes. Every disciple, no matter your maturity, can begin somewhere in speaking the gospel to others.
For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.” - Romans 1:16 ESV
“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” - Matthew 28:19-20 ESV
