November is here and another year is almost in the books. Thanksgiving and Christmas are just around the corner. November is a month that is often expressed with thankfulness, gratitude, and generosity.

Generosity is a lifestyle in which we share all that we have, are, and ever will become as a demonstration of God’s love and a response to God’s grace.
— Contagious Generosity, Willard & Sheppard

At Grace, we believe that in order to grow as a follower of Christ, there are five steps that you need to take in your walk with Him. You need to:

  • Worship Consistently
  • Join a Community Group
  • Serve faithfully
  • Give Generously
  • Speak the Gospel

Many of these steps come naturally to us. The last area that we usually grow in as followers is our ability to give generously.  Our pocketbooks tend to be the hardest things to surrender over to God. We want the control of our income and possessions, but forget that they belong to God and He is the one who blessed us with them. Our lack of generosity  will keep us from experiencing the blessings of God that He has for us to share in.  As we begin this month of focusing on Giving Generously, would you consider how you can grow in your generosity?

There are five types of givers that define and can aid in how you can consider to grow in your generosity.

Which one defines you and how can you grow in your generosity and advance the Kingdom of God?

Questions to Ponder:

  • Do you have a generous heart? Are you a generous person?
  • Do you make generous donations to your church?
  • Do you show generosity to poor and needy people?
  • Do you think God is pleased with your level of giving?
  • Do you need to make any changes in how you approach giving?
